Date Posted: 06:49, 26 10 2007 Office Secret: Funny , how someone can make a blanket statement as the one below. All my children went to Public schools and I have one who teaches there now and I found many Christians in the Public schools who loved God and saw their jobs as a calling. There are Godless people with no morals in all walks of life. Thats why our school system is called PUBLIC. If you want a school where all the teachers are Professed Christian's then put your kids in a Christian school. Notice I put the word Professed, just because someone says they are a Christian doesnt mean they are , or that they live out Christian principles.
Date Posted: 06:34, 26 10 2007 Office Secret: In the public schools there are people who teach our children who have no morals, principals or values ,how sad for the kids

Date Posted: 10:46, 19 10 2007 Office Secret: I installed a computer prank program on some people's networked computers allowing me to take over their systems.
OMG - They freaked when their screen went upside down or the mouse froze or the Blue Screen of Death kept appearing. I even set it up to pretend to reboot.
They thought they had gotten a virus somehow. I did this for over 2 weeks before "fixing" the system for them. Only a few others knew about it. To this day it has been our little secret.
p.s. The pranks are still installed in a hidden directory which I still control from time to time.
Date Posted: 10:39, 19 10 2007 Office Secret: In response to the Crystal Light revenge: I had a co-worker who had complete disregard for other people's stuff. Even though it was a meaningless disposable plastic bowl, I had had enough. After he cut the bowl for some reason and ruined it without asking I waited 'til he left for lunch to get revenge. He is an obsesive neat freak, so I decided to "Re-arange" his office. I turned everything in his office from the floor to the ceiling upside down. If you can think of it, it was turned over. Bookshelves, books, displays, CD Tower including CD's; etc. Even rigged pictures and clock to be upside down.
Hearing him curse and whine for the rest of the day while he fixed it all... Priceless!

Date Posted: 11:34, 12 10 2007 Office Secret: Our office is struggling, in the real estate field. We are 3 - 2 of us regularly attend Oasis. I'm the owner, an appraiser starving for our refusal to 'bless' what we see as "desperate house lies". We know about foreclosure, taxes ARMs... S. FL is a struggle for most of us now.
We're helping each other find other jobs, in case we go under... it's that bad. I've kept Juan and Sofia on a year past any net income for me - living on my equity line to pay them. Praying for a rebound and to get my Assisted Living Facility, Angel House, in PP, open. That will feed us for a few months til we can get more owner work, or for lawyers & police, in fighting fraud. We fight fraud that so many realtors/appraisers enable. I've encouraged Sofia to attend, but Oasis gave her a spanish service! Johnny G our Tues pastor, donated a tv to the ALF - 501(c)3 not for profit. I'm trying to hang onto the house, with taxes Quadrupled in 3.5 years. We pray together at work too. The world is so "pc". Sofia is Catholic - but only goes at Easter and Christmas. I've so tried to tell her how going to Oasis Church helps me survive and not stress so much. She will See it for helself now

Date Posted: 11:31, 09 10 2007 Office Secret: I teach bible school and some of the teachers are soooo 'frugal' that they would rather me not have a Christmas party so that their classses won't get jealous of my class when their classes don't have one. They don't like even when I bring in food for my class. I had one teacher complain about me last week. OMG.

Date Posted: 18:49, 07 10 2007 Office Secret: I work in Law Enforcement and at times I feel like I am up to my ears in workplace politics. To avoid getting involved I just try to stay focused on God and Family. I do my job knowing that rather I play the game or not this job like all things will end no matter what; and when it does I want to know that I did not sell myself or co-worker out for a position.
Date Posted: 17:31, 07 10 2007 Office Secret: I am a youtube addict! I can't get enough at work!
Date Posted: 08:19, 07 10 2007 Office Secret: Sometimes my boss can be annoying...but, even though it's painful, I must admit that he is a man of integrity and I appreciate that. I am a Notary, and I have heard of instances where Notaries are forced by their bosses to notarize documents improperly (and illegally). While my boss gives me a hard time about my firm stand to only notarize things properly, completely and in order, I know that his kidding is good-natured and that he respects me for taking a stand to abide by my convictions. It is good to work in an office that has respect and agape' love for its employees.

Date Posted: 13:40, 06 10 2007 Office Secret: I was placed in his position with the annual raise we all receive. I asked for a bigger raise and they made sure to let me know that I had to show that I can perform tne job as required. I kind of understood and set out to impress them. A couple of months later I asked the controller again and he stated that since I had waited this long then I can wait till the end of the year. I was not to happy but I had no other choice. I know that I would definately get a raise at the end of the year. During this whole time I had trained and answered all questions that the newly hires had. I would correct all the errors in the accounts payables. I woulld constantly be busy on the phone, going over accounts, clarifying and rectifiying all accounts. As you can imagine the paper work I had on my destk. The other lady her desk was always neat not to many paper anywhere and she mostly would be on her cell phone. To the controller this seemed to him that she had everything under control and I didn't. I was not performing to standards. At the time of the review I was graded as performing under standards. I ask myself, If I was performing understandards, then why are all the accounts up to date. Why is it when there is a situation they come to me to resolve it . I also found out that the lady gets paid alot more than me and supposedly I am her supervisor. I never heard of this. Their excuse is that she was hired under different circumstances.

Date Posted: 17:29, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: Someone kept stealing my water or crystal light at work out of our refrigerator. I wrote notes asking them to stop but they never did. After about 6 months of oft stolen drinks, I put some laxative in my "Drinks". Mysteriously, no one ever touched them again!
Date Posted: 17:18, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I work at a small warehouse in Kendall that is a family owned business. The owners are rarely ever there and when they are, they are hitting on the office staff or going out to unch for 3 hours. I know of at least 2 instances where one of the owners was cheating on his wife with one of his employees. It makes me sick to work with these kinds of people, not to mention it makes me nervous that my job might not be safe as long as they are living a crazy lifestyle.

Date Posted: 15:37, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I sell cars for a living and I feel terrible about a lot of the sales techniques that our dealership uses to sell vehicles. After every sale I feel a bit dirty. Just knowing the things that people will say and do to make money makes me sick. I really feel like I need to change jobs but this is all I have every known.
Date Posted: 15:29, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I was recently harrassed at my job and had to tell my employer about the issue. It was difficult for me because I was very scared of what could happen if I talked. Fortunately, the person doing the harrassing left shortly after. It really opened my eyes to what women face in the workplace. Women face a lot of difficult circumstances and I want to pray for all of the women who do so much for theier families, jobs, and the church. May God bless you all.

Date Posted: 13:22, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I work in the oilfield. I work 11 days on, 3 days off. I can't affirmatively plan anything for my days on, because my work is subject to change my plans at any time. Most of my jobs are two and a half to three hours away from home. I spend thirty to fifty percent of my nights either sleeping in a hotel or in my car (I put the back seats down and roll out the sleeping bag). My personal record is 107 1/2 straight hours at work (102 1/2 hours on location, 5 hours driving to location and back). My hours aren't set, but on average, I wake up at around 4:30 for job - unless I'm on the night shift that day. Then it's 7 PM to 7 AM.
Date Posted: 12:44, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I think part of the problem for employees is that when they accomplish everything on their list, they rest. You can't ever feel like you are finished. That is when you get behind. You have to keep pressing ahead and that is where you find true fulfillment at work. When I feel like I am finished, I put on more steam.
Date Posted: 12:28, 05 10 2007 Office Secret: I love it when I reach that point where there is nothing to do. That is when I get ahead of the pack and create projects and get creative. That is where I find that real growth and success lives.

Date Posted: 17:36, 04 10 2007 Office Secret: I hated my job and didn't care even that much for the co-workers in my office. I dreaded going to work. But then I got sick and they transferred me to a different department. I sat at a desk for 16 years and now I am on my feet for 8 hours a day doing counter sales. Guess what? I love it. It's hard physically but I get to deal face to face with all kinds of people . I had to change my attitude and then I started enjoying my job again. Sometimes that is all it takes and the dear Lord kept me sane through it all!!!!! I wanted a new job and God kept me at the old one but moved me to a better position. All you guys & gals having a hard time ... hang in there. God knows your needs!!!!!

I have been with this company for 25 years in NY but since moving to florida my salary was cut in half because in order to stay in the company I got a demotion to the only position that was available in the florida office. I feel horrible most days and feel like such a looser because I don't get off of my fat A and look for a job that would pay me based on my experiences. I keep praying and hoping that God is listening.

Date Posted: 12:58, 02 10 2007 Office Secret: I am in wait tables for a living while I am putting myself through school. South Floridians don't tip well as a general rule. I especially hate working in the take-out area. Those people never tip and I still get paid the same as if I worked in the dine-in area. Business people are good tippers and that helps my bottom line, but that's only for the lunch rush and that only lasts an hour or so.

I get nervous about sharing my ideas with executives because I don't know who I can trust.
Date Posted: 20:22, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: This is a good way to gauge the pulse of your congregation, in prep for the upcoming message at church. Great variety in the responses, some are heartbreaking and others are deserving of contempt (the lazy ones). Not all work environments are like the tv show The Office, but you have to look for the humor in your co-workers or you'll go crazy. Blessed is the person who is well placed in their job, doing something they feel is significant and of benefit to society. This blog is a good idea, so kudos to the creative staff at Oasis Church. P.S. I am semi-retired after twenty-nine years in a job I loved! Now I am "of counsel".
Date Posted: 20:13, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I am opening an restaurant soon. I am taking a few business classes and by next summer I should be opening.
Date Posted: 20:09, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I have ADHD/H/I - I highly recommend working in bursts. I can sit and get a lot done all at once, then I have to take a walk. My mom taught me to count my steps and to make my steps count. In that vien, I often will stock pile faxes/copies so I'll be able to stay away from my desk for a longer chunk of time. Gives me a change of scenery and helps me burn some extra energy.

Date Posted: 15:38, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: How's this for an office secret - find a job that you're passionate about, that you believe in the cause, that's flexible, where you can do things that you're good at, with people that you like, and that understands your love and devotion to family. I found one. They are out there. Don't lose hope!!
Date Posted: 15:23, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: office bureaucracy spans the corporate setting and is in church offices too. only it's worse when we are all supposed to be christ-like to eachother.

Date Posted: 14:55, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I am a nurse at Memorial Regional in Cardiac Testing. It's is amazing how many people wonder why they have heart problems. I just had two people today who were terribly out of shape and wondered why they high percentage blockages in their arteries.
Date Posted: 14:49, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: The government wastes more money than you can imagine. If you don't use your budget, you lose it. People spend exhorbitant amounts of money on useless items just to spend their "quota". I feel wierd about creating ways to spend money. By the way, nice job switching the order this weekend. Nice change of pace.

Date Posted: 14:00, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: My job is in Human Resources and changes in immigrant eligibility restrictions (See Law [“PRWORA” PL 104-193]) are making my job a nightmare. I work in the tourism industry for a national hotel chain and my company is having a hard time finding skilled labor. We hired 3 people last week who weren't exactly legal just because we have to fill empty positions immediately or we could lose our jobs.
Date Posted: 13:48, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I have to let two people go today who failed drug tests. I know this hurts families deeply. Pray for me that God woud give me guidance

Date Posted: 12:51, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: Well I am sitting at my desk right now trying to keep my self from falling apart and crying. I have never worked for a company that did not believe in positive reinforcment. I am slowly being torn down in my workplace. I have never felt so stupid in my life and funny thing is I know I am not. I have always been an asset at any job I was at and I am a collge student. I need the right job, that uplifts God and keeps my spirits high. So I plannig on searching the newspaper classifieds at lunch. -Torn down and Broken
Date Posted: 12:45, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: so..we are out of water jugs for the water cooler...thus everyone is complaining about not having water when there is a water fountain not 10 feet away...hhmm why are we so obsessed with filtered water?
Date Posted: 12:44, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: Has anyone ever heard the old saying that the grass is greener on the other side.... News flash the grass is greener where it is watered. And selfishness comes in many forms. We all want to be happy but it should not be at someone elses expense.
Date Posted: 12:41, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I was hired at the same time as 6 other people I work with. There was a position in leadership that came open last week and even though I am more qualified for the job, I missed it. I am pretty sure they drew a name out of a hat. Why can't you get a job because you earned it?
Date Posted: 12:37, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: Last week I walked around the office building for two hours just pretending I was delivering stuff to different people. It was a nice break from my desk.
Date Posted: 12:36, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: Driving from Miramar to Miami and back every day is killing me. I have been coming in later and later and leaving later and later. I have to get back on a better routine.
Date Posted: 12:31, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I don't like how people that are in leadership talk down to me. I want to be in charge and fire them all.

Date Posted: 10:26, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: I have a crush on my boss!
Date Posted: 09:43, 01 10 2007 Office Secret: i felt like a child at my previous job. they would penalize me if i was even one minute late!
Date Posted: 13:12, 27 09 2007 Office Secret: I am the (intermediate) boss at my job. My people have questions, but I'm not given direction, and I'm supposed to represent the company line, when I don't even know what it is!
And my employees tattle on each other about who takes too long a lunch and who talks on the phone too much, but then they also have their own bad habits! Talk about the person with the piece of wood in their eye pointing out the splinter.
I don't pay attention to who takes 5 extra minutes, I'm much more interested in whether their work is completed correctly in a timely manner.
My employees are children! Grow up!
